Robin Kessinger old-time music festival this weekend
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Robin Kessinger is one of West Virginia's primo purveyors of old-time flatpick guitar, so much so that there's a whole festival in his name. The annual Robin Kessinger Festival takes place Thursday through Saturday at Camp Sheppard in Gandeeville.
Events on Thursday include living history demonstrations of mountaineer life with black powder shoots. On Friday, there are string instrument master workshops and live music. On Saturday, the West Virginia State Championship guitar contest begins 9 a.m. (the winner will be eligible to compete at Winfield, Kan.) followed by concerts.
Entry is $15 per day or $25 for the weekend, with children under 12 free plus free "cowboy bunk" style camping.Call 304-927-3166, visit www.robinkessinger.com/festival.html or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
