Summertime soul on tap for Friday's Live on the Levee
Nicci Canada, a Charleston native living in North Carolina, returns home to perform with The Bob Thompson Unit at Friday's Live on the Levee concert.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Bob Thompson Unit is the only act performing at Friday's Live on the Levee, but it's not alone. The jazz quartet will be joined by soul singer Nicci Canada when the free show kicks off at 6:30 p.m. at Haddad Riverfront Park.Canada, of Charlotte, N.C., is a Charleston native who grew up singing in the Greater Emmanuel Apostolic Faith Church on the West Side.
