and The Mix bring a stew of electro-fried, bass-powered blues and funk to the Sound Factory, 812 Kanawha Blvd. E., in a show starting at 8 p.m. Thursday.Born on Chicago's South Side and raised by his grandmother, he earned his nickname by always being underfoot in the kitchen while she cooked. He was the long-time bass player for Chicago's legendary bluesman Lonnie Brooks (the group performed at President Bill Clinton's inauguration), and he has gone on to carve out a niche for himself as a crowd-pleasing purveyor of blues and funk matched with soulful vocals.Cover is $15 at the door.
