Film Festival hosts 'Motion Picture Mixer'

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The W.Va. International Film Festival hosts a "Motion Picture Mixer" fundraiser starting at 6 p.m. Thursday at Sam's Uptown, 28 Capitol St. Suggested donation is $8, which benefits the WVIFF.The event showcases film shorts from 1910-1920 via the American Film Archive, a 16-mm projection of footage found in a thrift store in Charmco, Greenbrier County, and previews of this year's spring festival selections, which include the Oscar-nominated "Beasts of the Southern Wild" and Marion Cotillard's romantic drama "Rust and Bone." There will also be music by George Brackens and ticket giveaways to the festival, which runs April 12-20.
