Wayne Newton will appear at the South Charleston Armed Forces Day parade on Saturday.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- While Wayne Newton -- yes, "Mr. Las Vegas" himself -- will be a special guest for Saturday's 54th Armed Forces Day Parade in South Charleston, don't expect to hear him sing "Danke Schoen" or "Red Roses for a Blue Lady." Newton will be featured at the start of the parade then at a table at the Mound later on.

The parade's Grand Marshal is Lawson Freeman, a Marine Corps veteran. There will also be school bands from the area performing and costumed cartoon characters. The parade begins at noon on 7th Street and concludes at the Mound. A military flyover is planned during the event and more than a hundred military units are expected to participate.
