Butch Miles, Boy Scout band at levee Friday

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The brass-heavy National Jamboree Band, composed of seasoned Boy Scout musicians between the ages of 16 and 21, will open this Friday's edition of the free Live on the Levee concert series at Haddad Riverfront Park at 6:30 p.m., followed by jazz drumming great Butch Miles, who performs sets at 7:45 and 8:45 p.m. Miles, a 2011 West Virginia Music Hall of Fame inductee, has performed with such luminaries as Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Dave Brubeck, Mel Torme, Lena Horne and many more.
