Geno Smith autograph signing
Former WVU star and current New York Jet Geno Smith will sign autographs and meet fans from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at Collectibles, Etc., 900 Nitro Market Place, Cross Lanes. Bring your own items, or some will be available for purchase.
If you bring your own item to be signed, tickets are $40. Items for sale range from $45 to $70, including ticket price.

Arts sampler workshop
The West Virginia Division of Culture and History will host a free workshop for aspiring performers ages 8 to 16 from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through July 26. Classes will be taught in music, dance and drama. At the workshop's end, participants will have the opportunity to perform in a showcase at the Culture Center Theater.

Bruce Springsteen film
Cinemark Huntington Mall will screen the documentary "Springsteen & I" at 7:30 p.m. Monday. The film celebrates the impact of Springsteen's music and incorporates submissions from more than 2,000 fans across the world about what the singer means to them.
It also includes footage of Springsteen performing some of his greatest hits as well as never-before-seen archival concert footage. The night also includes unreleased footage from Hard Rock Colling and the London leg of the Wrecking Ball tour, plus a special featurette.

Jackson County Fair
The Jackson County Fair begins Monday and runs through July 27 at the Jackson County Fairgrounds near Cottageville. There will be live music nightly.
The schedule is: Jackson County Idol karaoke contest, 6 p.m. Monday; Brent Cobb, 7 p.m., and Dustin Lynch, 8:30 p.m. Tuesday; Chris Cagle, 8 p.m. Wednesday; Restless Heart, 8 p.m. July 25; Jamie Tolley, 7 p.m., and Adam Crabb and The Bowling Family, 8 p.m. July 26; Taylor Made, 7 p.m., and Tyler Farr, 9 p.m. July 27. All concerts are country music, except the 26th, which is gospel.
Fair passes are $25 for ages 12 and up and $10 for ages 2-11. Daily admission is $8 for ages 12 and up, $5 for ages 2-11 and free for children under 2. Neither admission includes carnival rides.

'Chicago' cast announced
Toni Pilato and Katlin Kouns will star as Velma Kelly and Roxie Hart when the Charleston Light Opera Guild stages "Chicago" Aug. 2-4 and 9-11 at the Civic Center Little Theater. They'll be joined by Michael Gore as Billy Flynn, Kristen Pennington as Matron "Mama" Morton, Tim Whitener as Amos Hart, T.R. Brightwell as Mary Sunshine and Stephen Hayward as Fred Casely.
The merry murderesses will be played by Dayja Legg, Lauren Meyer, Megan Sydnor, Allison Whitener, Leslie Raab and Beth Fellure. The ensemble is made up of Bob McCarty, Steve Brannon, Haley Burgess, Bryan Chin, Trey Harris, Kiara Moore, Jessica Northup, Angela Price, Frannie Slotnick, Nick Staples and Kevin Swafford.

Southern Sisters: "Whether you and your sisters run a business together, rule the nightlife in your town, share an obsession or are planning a big move in your lives, then we want to hear from you! Describe what makes you and your sisters unique and why a show about you would be a hit. Include your names, ages, contact info, photos and any relevant links."
2. Manly Men (in Girly Worlds): "If you or someone you know is a guy's guy working or living in a typically female arena -- Pilates, child care, nail art, etc. -- we want to hear about it! Tell us what makes you a guy's guy in a woman's world, and why you think you'd be great on TV. Include your name, age, contact info and a few photos."
3. Independent/family-owned businesses: "We want to hear from unique family owned-and-operated businesses, particularly those with multiple generations involved. Include a few photos, a brief bio about yourselves and why you think you'd be good on TV."
4. Wildcards: "Do you scream TV, but don't fit into the above categories? We'll still hear you out!"
