'Yellow Star' stories

Bright Star Touring Theatre from Asheville, N.C., will bring its play "I Wore a Yellow Star" to several Kanawha County libraries.

CHARLESTON, W.Va.-- This week, several Kanawha County Public Library branches will host Asheville, North Carolina's Bright Star Touring Theatre and its production of "I Wore a Yellow Star," a powerful 45-minute play about the Holocaust. The production, which has an anti-bullying theme, takes the audience on a journey through pivotal moments with key historic figures to help them understand this dark chapter in human history and the resilience of the human spirit.

It is recommended for grades 3 to adult. Performances are Tuesday at Cross Lanes Public Library (1:30 p.m.) and Elk Valley Public Library (6 p.m.) and Wednesday at Riverside Public Library (10 a.m.) and the main branch in downtown Charleston (6 p.m.)
