Former Charleston's Teen Idol winner on 'X Factor'
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- If you watched "The X Factor" on Wednesday night, then you saw Colton Pack win the judges over with his performance of Jason Aldean's "Hicktown" from the Long Island audition round. The 18-year-old hails from the tiny unincorporated town of Danese in Fayette County.
Pack made a splash locally in 2011 when he won the fourth edition of Charleston's Teen Idol competition sponsored by Charleston Town Center, Coca-Cola, FlipSide and Electric 102.7. His prize package included a trip to Nashville to record a demo with a professional backing band and consult with a music producer.
If you missed Pack's "X Factor" performance, you can see it and other video clips online at www.thexfactorusa.com. He got a yes from all four judges -- including a very enthusiastic Simon Cowell -- so we'll be seeing him again once the audition episodes end. You can see his Teen Idol songs, as well as other live performances, on his YouTube channel: pampack1290.
