Kellie Pickler sings for a cure
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Country singer Kellie Pickler has come a ways since finishing sixth on the fifth season of "American Idol," not all the success having to do with her voice. In late May, she and partner Derek Hough were crowned winners of season 16 of "Dancing With the Stars."
She comes to Huntington Sunday to perform a benefit concert at Big Sandy Superstore Arena as part of the PATH to the Cure 5K fundraiser run/walk to help uninsured and under-insured women get mammograms. All PATH to the Cure race participants get free admission to the concert, which immediately follows the 3 p.m. run/walk.
Tickets are $27 for those not participating in the event, with the concert set for 5 p.m. To sign up for the race, go to www.pathtothecure.org, and to buy show tickets, go to www.ticketmaster.com or call 800-745-3000.
