Cynthia Levinson decided to write "We've Got a Job: The 1963 Birmingham Children's March" when she discovered that most of those incarcerated in Birmingham during the Civil Rights movement were young people.

Washington Booker II is one of four people prominently featured in Cynthia Levinson's "We've Got a Job: The 1963 Birmingham Children's March." Levinson spent four years researching the book, including conducting extensive interviews with Booker and others.
