A teen art show and sale runs June 14-18 in Center Court at Charleston Town Center Mall.Peer-to-Pier mural projectJune 15-24, you can see artists working on new murals on the Interstate 64 support columns at Kanawha Boulevard. This year's theme is the river and how it shaped Charleston. Painting began June 1, and the artists have two months to complete their designs.Musical easelsFrom 2 to 5 p.m. June 16, artists will draw or paint scenery at the Lee Street Triangle. Accompanied by street musicians, they'll switch easels whenever the music stops.FestivALL Art Parade
The FestivALL Art Parade runs 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. June 16. Visual artists, performers, musicians, bicyclists, roller skaters and organizations will strut along a route on Capitol Street from Kanawha Boulevard to Capitol Market.Cabaret life drawingDr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School will be set up at the Lee Street Triangle from noon to 1:30 p.m. June 16. Draw live models with the art supplies provided, or bring your own.R.J. Haddy workshop"Face Off" finalist R.J. Haddy will demonstrate "Special Effects and Makeup Artistry" from 1 to 3:30 p.m. June 16 at Charleston Town Center Mall. See guest services for specific location.Art/architecture walking tourExplore the public art and architecture of downtown Charleston with a walking tour from 1 to 2:30 p.m. June 16. Guides will explain the history behind landmarks and artwork. The tour starts at the Lee Street Triangle. A similar trolley tour takes place June 23.
Art auctionEast End Main Street StreetWorks' 2012 art auction and celebration runs 5:30 to 8 p.m. June 17 at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, 301 Piedmont Road. Original works will be auctioned at this gala benefit, emceed by Ted Brightwell. Musicians will perform. Tickets are $25 and include beer, wine and hors d'oeuvres.
