The Sustainable Families Preparedness Fair, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 15, will feature several food and cooking related topics, including food storage and canning methods and alternative cooking methods and a sampling of reconstituted long-term storage foods.Admission is free. Men Who Cook
The West Virginia Institute for Spirituality presents the event from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Blessed Sacrament Church, 305 E. St. in South Charleston. The event features tastes of food prepared by men, including Gazette reporter Rick Steelhammer. Tickets are $20 per person, or $35 per couple. All proceeds will go toward reducing the mortgage at the West Virginia Institute for Spirituality offices.
