Fayette County Farmers Market is open from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturdays at the Convention and Visitor's Bureau in Fayetteville. Vendors will offer seasonal produce as well as baked goods, jams, apple butter and perennial, trees, berry and vegetable plants.The Farmers Market will continue to accept Senior Coupons, WIC vouchers and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Benefits for fresh produce. Hawks Nest State Park in Ansted will host a wing competition from 11 a.m. through 3 p.m. May 18.The deadline to enter the "Wing It" competition is 5 p.m. May16. Current competitors include Chetty's Pub from Adventures on the Gorge and DiOGi's Mexican Grill and Cantina.Tasting tickets are $1 each and the winner will be announced at 5 p.m. Additional activities include a flying demonstration by the Beckley Model Airplane Club.
