LEWISBURG, W.Va. -- A Lewisburg restoration business will be the focus on a new national television show Nov. 1 and 2 on the DIY channel."Barnwood Builders" is the name of the show, which will debut with a one-hour segment on two projects undertaken by Antique Cabins and Barns at 10 p.m. Nov. 1 and 1 a.m. Nov. 2.Whether more segments of the reality show will be produced depends on the viewership the first show receives, said show host Mark Bowe, who founded the restoration business 16 years ago.Antique Cabins and Barns specializes in the recovery and restoration of 19th-century hand-hewn log and timber frame structures.
"We are the country's best log and timber restoration company, with museums, houses and backyard projects all over the country," said Bowe, who also has an independent insurance agency in Lewisburg. He said "Barnwood Builders" is produced by Silent Crow Arts, which also produces "Deadliest Catch" and "Ice Road Truckers."In August, a production crew filmed the two projects that will be featured. In one, Bowe and the Antique Cabins and Barns crew traveled to Indiana to take down a barn built by Abraham Lincoln's uncle. The second was the assembling of a dog-trot style barn at Bowe's restoration facility in Greenbrier County.Bowe said he has seen the programs on his business and he believes they present Greenbrier County and West Virginia in a positive light.
