Kentucky man faces W.Va. drug charge

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Deputy R.D. Meadows was driving through Charleston about 8 p.m. when he saw a car driving the wrong way on Pennsylvania Avenue, said Lt. Sean Crosier of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department.After the car turned onto Kanawha Boulevard, Meadows pulled the driver over, Crosier said. He said the driver, Larry Brewer, 36, of Lovely, Ky., allegedly jerked away when Meadows tried to search him for weapons.
Meadows arrested Brewer and searched his car, Crosier said. He said the deputy found several types of prescription pills, and allegedly discovered that Brewer's drivers license had been suspended.Brewer was charged with driving on a suspended license, obstructing a police officer and possession of narcotics. He was taken to Kanawha County Magistrate Court, where he was released on a personal recognizance bond.
