CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Charleston man ran off the road and slammed his truck into a house near Sissonville late Monday.
Travis Gray, 35, was heading west on Martins Branch Road between Sissonville and Cross Lanes at about 11:15 p.m. when he apparently lost control of his 2005 Toyota Tundra pickup truck, ran off the road, hit a tree and smashed into a house at 14 Country Oaks Lane, according to Lt. Bryan Robbins of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department.
The truck rolled over several times, he said.
Robbins said both the truck and the house were heavily damaged. He said Gray did not appear to be wearing a seatbelt, and was thrown partially through the windshield.
Gray was taken to CAMC General Hospital, where he was in critical condition on Tuesday.
Robbins said deputies do not yet know what caused the crash. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol contributed, he said.
