OAK HILL, W.Va. -- An elderly man has been arrested after allegedly shooting three adults just outside Oak Hill on Saturday.According to Fayette County Sheriff Steve Kessler, deputies arrested Howard Junior Curry, 83, of Fayetteville, and charged him with three counts of murder.At about 5:09 a.m. Saturday, police received a call that a man at 136 Toney Hollow Road had shot three people. The caller said the man was still armed and inside the residence.When police arrived, they found a white man lying on the front porch of a residence next to the shooting scene. The man had been shot multiple times.Police established a perimeter around the residence where the shootings occurred and began to make contact with a man armed with a handgun. Curry did not brandish the gun or threaten officers, and he was soon in custody without incident.Once officers entered the home, they found two women who had been shot multiple times.
Police are still in the process of notifying victims' families, but the victims include a white man, 82, and two white women, ages 57 and 47. The man and the older woman lived outside of the immediate area, according to the Sheriff's Department. All the victims were related, Kessler said in a press release.Police took Curry to the Southern Regional Jail where he is waiting for a hearing. The victims were sent to the state Medical Examiner's Office for autopsies.Kessler also wrote in his press release that "this crime was most probably domestic-related, but we cannot speculate as to a possible motive at this time."Several members of other police departments assisted, including officers from Mount Hope, Oak Hill and Fayetteville.
