Parkersburg chip maker Mister Bee resumes production


PARKERSBURG, W.Va. -- Fans of Mister Bee Potato Chip Co. don't have to wait much longer to enjoy the company's snacks again.The Parkersburg company resumed production Monday following a six-month shutdown.Mister Bee's president Christie Mallett tells the Parkersburg News and Sentinel that the company will begin delivering potato chips to Kroger, Wal-Mart and other stores on Friday.Mister Bee's filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last November. Since then, the company has restructured and a private investor has provided money for operations.
Mallett says most of the employees have returned to work. The company employs more than 30 people.The family-owned company was founded in 1951. It serves customers in West Virginia, southeast Ohio and eastern Kentucky.
