The Charleston Light Opera Guild will hold auditions for "Legally Blonde," the Tony-nominated musical based on the hit Reese Witherspoon movie, this weekend at its theater, 411 Tennessee Ave. Performance dates are July 27-29 and Aug. 3-5.Singing and reading auditions are 11 a.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday. Bring music for accompanist. Scripts will be provided. Dance auditions are 8 p.m. Sunday. The 26th annual Bill Morris Memorial Bluegrass Band Competition will be held at 7 p.m. June 9 at the Mountaineer Opry House in Milton.Cash prizes of $500, $400 and $300 will be awarded to first-, second- and third-place finishers, respectively, and they also will receive a $50 Route 60 Music gift certificate.

Now through Labor Day, all active-duty, National Guard and Reserve military personnel and their families will receive free gallery admission to the Clay Center thanks to the Blue Star Museums program, a partnership between Blue Star Families and the National Endowment for the Arts.
