Relay For Life
SISSONVILLE, W.Va. -- Sissonville will hold its fourth annual Relay For Life from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday at the Sissonville High School football field.
There will be music, games and food available at various campsites around the field continuing through the night. The event is part of the Carry the Torch For Hope program supporting the American Cancer Society.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Crossroads Men's Shelter needs the following supplies: Pine-Sol, Windex, liquid body wash and shampoo.
Bring items to Crossroads Shelter, 503 Leon Sullivan Way.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Covenant House Food Pantry is in need of boxed cereal, 1-pound bags of rice and dry beans, canned pasta and soup and powdered milk.
Drop off items between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the rear entrance to First Presbyterian Church, 16 Leon Sullivan Way. Take the elevator to the fourth floor.
Pancreatic cancer walk
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- The inaugural Sherry Shumaker Memorial Pancreatic Cancer 5K Walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. on July 14 at the Ritter Park picnic shelter.
Participation costs $18 before the walk, $25 on the day of the walk. Register at www.tristateracer.com/RaceDirector/race.php?RaceID=625. All proceeds from this event will go to fund pancreatic cancer research through the Lustgarden Foundation.
