Mass. woman in sex case to remain in state for now


CLARKSBURG, W.Va. -- A Massachusetts woman accused of posing as a teenage boy and crossing state lines to sexually prey on a West Virginia girl will remain in federal custody.U.S. Magistrate John Kaull said Carissa Hads should be bound over for proceedings by a federal grand jury. Last week, he deemed her a flight risk and a danger to the community.Investigators said the 24-year-old Quincy woman began an online relationship in 2010 with the victim while pretending to be a 17-year-old named James Puryear Wilson.The criminal complaint said Hads flew to West Virginia in February and had a sexual encounter with the 15-year-old at her Lewis County residence.
Her disguise included colored contact lenses and a back brace that covered her chest.Police said Hads didn't undress during the encounter.
