PARKERSBURG, W.Va. -- A grand jury will consider the findings of an investigation of a fatal police shooting in Wood County.Prosecutor Jason Wharton told the Parkersburg News and Sentinel that the grand jury will decide what the next step will be.Wharton said he'll present a report on the investigation to the grand jury. But he said he can't release the date.
Three Wood County deputies shot 32-year-old Jody Wilson of Lubeck on March 18 during a standoff at his parents' home. The sheriff's department said the deputies fired at Wilson after he shot at officers.
Wharton requested a State Police investigation after an internal investigation by the sheriff's department found that the deputies didn't violate department policies.
