Police arrest two adults, one juvenile in storm thefts


CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Police arrested three Kanawha County residents who allegedly stole generators, a tanning bed, guns, electronics and other equipment from storm victims.Kristina Renea Griggs, 34, and Dustin Jack Lycans, both of Marmet, and a juvenile family member were charged with multiple counts of breaking and entering, grand larceny and conspiracy. They were arrested July 9, according to a press release issued by the State Police.The three targeted victims in Kanawha and Fayette counties were without power from severe thunderstorms that damaged the region, the release said.Troopers recovered a 13,500-watt generator, a string trimmer, power tools and hand tools, a tanning bed, several flat-screen televisions, a laptop computer and several firearms.
Griggs and Lycans were arraigned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court. They remained in South Central Regional Jail Tuesday with a $50,000 bail each. State Police do not release the names or details of alleged juvenile offenders.
