Victims ID'd in possible meth lab explosion
HURRICANE -- State Police and the state Fire Marshal's office are continuing to investigate an explosion at a Hurricane mobile home Monday, believed to be caused by a methamphetamine lab.
Trina Clapham and Anthony Hawkins were severely burned and rushed to Cabell Huntington Hospital, according to a trooper with the Winfield detachment.
The trailer along Martins Branch Road that exploded around 4:15 p.m. Monday appears to have been caused by a meth lab inside the home, according to the trooper.
Officers and firefighters uncovered several materials used in meth production at the scene, and there is a history of drug activity at the residence, the trooper said.
