FUTURE EVENTS:Kanawha County Chapter 28, Disabled American Veterans,: will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Post 20, 414 Dickinson St. The group meets the fourth Thursday of each month.The West Virginia Federation of Democratic Women: will hold its annual Second District-West meeting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club, Hurricane. The meeting is hosted by the Putnam County Democratic Women's Club, Dot Turley, president. The cost is $20 per person, which includes the luncheon. Attorney General Darrell McGraw: will have a consumer advocate from his office available at 10 a.m. July 31 at Mason County Action Group Inc., 101 Second St., Point Pleasant. A representative will also be available at 11:30 a.m. July 31 at the Mason Senior Center, Second Street, Mason. The representatives will give a presentation on ID theft prevention, help consumers in understanding how to prevent ID theft, answer questions about consumer protection issues, take complaints and distribute educational literature. Anyone needing to complete a complaint form is asked to bring any documentation he or she might have. The Gabriel Project provides cribs, car seats and other baby items to needy mothers and babies.Putnam County Chamber of Commerce: will feature the next Business Before Business event from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Aug. 3 at The Gallery, 3750 Teays Valley Road in Hurricane. Business Before Business provides an early morning social but professional venue for business people to make new contacts and expand their presence in the business community. Participation is open to all Chamber members and their guests. This event is free to Chamber members. Reservations are required. A drawing will be held for a free e-Billboard.
