WE CAN Mentoring Program will have its Ice Cream Social and Pirate Treasure Hunt at 6:30 p.m. July 26 at Coonskin Park between the lake and the playground. Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority officers will meet at 11 a.m. July 27 in the new training conference room at the central office, 601 Brooks St. The board of directors will meet at noon Friday in the Dillon Room at the central office. For information, call 304-345-2312, ext. 130.
Fifth Annual Kevin's Lazy River Adventure 10 1/2-mile community float will take place at 10 a.m. July 28 beginning at John Slack Park in Racine and ending at Dartmont Park. Registration begins at 8:30 p.m. A picnic will take place from noon to 5 p.m. at Dartmont Park. There is no charge, but donations will be accepted. Town of Marmet will have its next dance from 7 to 10 p.m. July 28 at the Marmet Recreation Center. Tickets are $8. Buck Matheny's Classic Country Band will perform. Eastern Kanawha County Health and Recreation Committee, a subcommittee of the Upper Kanawha Valley Enterprise Community, is planning a community fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 28 in the parking lot of the Quincy Walmart, 1001 Warrior Way, Belle. Activities include inflatable funhouses for children, live music, food vendors, arts/craft vendors, Wellness Wagon from Cabin Creek Health Clinic, Connect Child Care Services and more.
