Housing Authority of the South Charleston Board of Commissioners will have its regular meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at the administrative offices, 520 Goshorn St., South Charleston.
Boone Memorial Hospital will offer a Back to School Bash from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Fountain of Life Worship Center, Rock Creek. Free services provided by the church include food, haircuts for children, large inflatables, 200 book bags filled with school supplies, clothing store, Christian music/concerts, vendors, games and other family events. Boone Memorial Hospital will offer the following free of charge until 2 p.m.: finger stick blood glucose testing, blood pressures, hearing tests. Tests offered for a slight charge include: sports physicals for school athletes, $10; Hemoglobin A1C, $10; and Vitamin D, $30. Call 304-369-0189 for information.
Kanawha Trail Club will meet for a hike Sunday in Kanawha State Forest on Pigeon Roost and Rocky Ridge. Carpool at 1:30 p.m. from Ohio and Randolph streets. Regroup at Johnson Hollow parking area. The hike is approximately 1 1/2 miles up and back on mostly level trail. Weather permitting, a section of Rocky Ridge trail may be added.
The Upper Vandalia Historical Society will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Putnam County Board of Education office in Winfield, located behind the old Courthouse. Joe Rumbaugh will speak on renovations of the Hoge House in Winfield. Refreshments will be served. Bring a friend or prospective member. For questions, call 304-760-2121.
