State PSC Transportation Enforcement Division wins national safety award for second straight year

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia's Public Service Commission Transportation Enforcement Division has been named the nation's top safety enforcement program for the second year in a row.The award, presented by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, goes to the division that demonstrates the highest level of achievement and focus in its safety programs, according to a news release.The state's transportation enforcement division was recognized for its work in conducting vehicle safety inspections and road checks during 2011.
"The joint effort between state and federal officials creates a successful Transportation Enforcement program, and in turn, reduces fatalities and injuries on roads across West Virginia," Gary Edgell, director of the PSCH Transportation Enforcement Division, said in a news release.
