CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A man whom police believe robbed a South Charleston convenience store last week was arrested late Sunday in Charleston.Jeremy David Elswick, 33, of Charleston, was picked up on an arrest warrant at a house on Virginia Avenue just before midnight while police were investigating another incident, according to Sgt. Eric Hodges of the Charleston Police Department.South Charleston police asked for the warrant last week.Police believe Elswick walked into the 7-Eleven convenience store on Jefferson Road in South Charleston at about 2:45 a.m. July 25. Keeping a gun hidden behind his back, police said Elswick allegedly demanded cash from the clerk before speeding away in a white Chevrolet Silverado truck.
Police said Elswick got away with less than $50.Elswick was charged with first-degree robbery. He was in the South Central Regional Jail on Monday in lieu of $100,500 bond.
