9/11 survivor to speak at Culture Center

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- New York Times best-selling author and 9/11 survivor Michael Hingson will speak in Charleston on Monday.Hingson wrote "Thunder Dog: A Blind Man, His Guide Dog, and the Triumph of Trust at Ground Zero" about his experience in the 2001 terrorist attacks. He will give public talks at 3 p.m. Monday and again from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Culture Center.
Hingson and his guide dog, Roselle, made it down safely from floor 78 in Tower One.Hingson also attended the 2012 convention of the National Federation of the Blind of West Virginia in Barboursville and addressed the group.Monday's event is sponsored by the West Virginia Library Commission and the Department of Education and the Arts.
