MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- A Virginia National Guard member arrested for running near a West Virginia school while carrying a training rifle will undergo an evaluation at a military facility.
The evaluation is a condition of 23-year-old William Everett Alemar's bond.
Media outlets report that Alemar was released on a $50,000 personal recognizance bond Wednesday. He had been held at the Eastern Regional Jail since his arrest Aug. 20.
His attorney, Kevin D. Mills, says he believes the bond agreement recognizes that Alemar isn't a danger to anyone.
Alemar is charged with terrorism and wearing body armor while committing a felony offense. Mills says Alemar will do whatever he needs to do to continue with his military career.
