New York City's My Pet Dragon is part of the musical 'eclectic lineup' at Culturefest, which returns today through Sunday to the Appalachian Folklife Center at Pipestem.

; North Carolina's seven-piece, multi-instrumental ensemble Songs of Water
; the psychedelic Afro-Colombian funk of Antoquia
, a band birthed in Columbia and based in Oakland; the experimental instrumental rock of North Carolina's A Ghost Like Me
; the Louisville-based Latin-infused world folk of Appalatin
and the bluegrass sound, mixed with rock and reggae, of Brushfire Stankgrasss

, triple-harmony folk duo The BrotherSisters
, "folk medicine" singer Kathleen Coffee, the Liberty High School World Percussion Ensemble, teen rockers Miss Behavin' and others. There also are the fire dancing and gypsy performance troupe Po Folks Cabaret and dance and movement theater of stiltwalker Chally Erb.
The event also features healing arts and the late-night Third Eye Cabaret, an alternative performance space from midnight to 2 a.m., as well as workshops on Indian dance, yoga and world percussion and a "La La Land" kids village with a youth open mic and costume parade.
