Putnam County Adult Learning Center will offer orientation for GED testing from September through December. Orientation takes 10 to 15 minutes and will take place between 3:30 and 6 p.m. at the Putnam Career and Technical Center on the following dates: Sept. 12 for the Sept. 17 and 19 test dates; Oct. 10 for the Oct. 16 and 17 test dates; Oct. 31 for the Nov. 5 and 7 test dates; and Dec. 4 for the Dec. 18 and 19 test dates. The tests take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on the test dates. Those planning to take the test should arrive by 3:45 p.m. Bring a photo ID, voucher and ticket.Kanawha Communities That Care will sponsor a "Loved Ones" hour-long free addiction education presentation at 6 p.m. each Thursday on the second floor of the Haddad Building, 4825 MacCorkle Ave., South Charleston. Charleston Police Department's Citizen Academy Alumni Association will sponsor a pulled pork barbecue meal sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Roosevelt Neighborhood Center, Ruffner and Jackson streets. The price is $5 and includes a large pulled pork barbecue sandwich, slaw and chips. The deadline to place group orders is Sept. 12. Admission is $10 and is cash only.
