Indian feast to benefit Manna Meal set for Saturday

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A traditional Indian dinner for 200 guests, with live music and a silent auction will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday at the India Center. Proceeds will benefit the Manna Meal soup kitchen.The fundraising dinner will feature both traditional and exotic Indian foods and dishes. The evening begins with a cocktail reception and silent auction featuring Kai Haynes playing acoustic guitar. The dinner will be served at 7:15 p.m. and will include live music. Entertainment includes eastern traditional Indian dancers and western vocals, guitar by Raj Pongsurgree, percussion by Marylin McKeown and Stan Bumgardner on violin.The silent auction will offer items such as gold jewelry, an Indian dinner delivered to your home, Indian clothing, gifts and gift certificates by area businesses. The cost is $60 per person or $600 per table of 10. Tickets can be purchased at Manna Meal, located in St. John Episcopal Church, 1105 Quarrier St., entering through the back alley of the church.
