Manna Meal art festival
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Manna Meal Inc. presents its fifth annual MannaFest with "Art in the Garden So the Hungry Can Eat" from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Clay Center.
An art exhibit of works inspired by a garden and a live auction of those works will be featured.
The Charleston soup kitchen is always collecting food, especially canned meat of any kind. Donations may be dropped at the Manna Meal kitchen, St. John's Episcopal Church, Quarrier Street.
Food bank flag football
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Flag football games will be played from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 29 at Buskirk Field on the Marshall University campus to raise food and money for the Huntington Area Food Bank.
The winning team will be awarded the inaugural Hunger Bowl trophy and an MU prize basket. All students, faculty and student organizations are encouraged to participate. The overall goal is to raise enough food and monetary donations to equate to 1,200 meals.
To register a flag football team, visit www.marshall.edu/wpmu/community-engagement/. Teams will consist of six members and registration is $15 per team. The deadline to register is Sept. 27.
