United Way will sponsor the 2012 United Way Fundraising Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in the Capitol Circle at the state Capitol Complex. Several state government agencies will be participating in the event. This year's event will feature various fundraising activities designed by individual agencies. Hot dogs, tacos in a bag, bake sale, popcorn, candy apples, 50/50 drawing, auction, pumpkin-carving contest, a pie contest and more will be featured. Entertainment will be provided by WQBE Radio. Items and food for the event are donated with 100 percent of the proceeds going to benefit the United Way and local communities.
