Huntington station tops Amtrak boardings in W.Va.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Amtrak says it had nearly 55,000 passenger boardings and departures at West Virginia stations last fiscal year.
Amtrak released a state-by-state list of its top stations Thursday.
Leading the way in West Virginia was the Huntington Amtrak station, with nearly 12,000 boardings and departures. It was followed by the Charleston station, with about 10,000. The Hinton station was third at 8,700, followed by the Martinsburg station at 8,600 and the White Sulphur Springs station at 6,000.
Amtrak says it had a record 31.2 million passengers nationwide over the past fiscal year.
