Charleston Area Alliance will present the third annual Elevations Enrichment and Leadership Academy, "Success by Choice and Chance," from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 29 at Charleston Embassy Suites. The workshop features speakers, informative sessions to help professional women realize their potential and take their career to the next level. A "Wine, Women & Wisdom" dinner will follow at Bridge Road Bistro. Hot dogs and other food items, including baked goods, will be available for purchase.Downtown Lewisburg and The Greenbrier Humane Society will hold First Fridays After Five in downtown Lewisburg from 5 to 9 p.m. Nov. 2. Downtown shops will sponsor a dog and cat food and treat drive. Pet food, toys, blankets, beds, collars, leashes or monetary donations will be accepted. Participating businesses include The Greenbrier Valley Visitors Bureau, Irish Pub, Plaid Eagle Antiques, Valley Dance Studio, Greenbrier Valley Baking Co., Harmony Ridge Gallery and more. Look for food-and-treat-drive posters in downtown shop windows. Activities also will take place at several other businesses. Downtown Lewisburg is one mile south of Interstate 64 via exit 169. Putnam County Convention and Visitors Bureau is compiling its 2013 Putnam County events calendar. Activities, festivals and events taking place in Putnam County in 2013 can be included in the calendar free of charge. More than 12,000 calendars will be printed and distributed to area locations in Putnam County.Hall Neighbors' House Wellness Center, 66 College Ave., Buckhannon, will celebrate Gratitude Month in November. The center will offer twice-weekly yoga classes and support groups along with special events: a depression screening, a self-defense workshop for women, a presentation on hunger and homelessness, and workshops on Christmas gift making, poetry and origami. Lunch will be served at noon three days a week and all programming is free.
