CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The 45th annual Capital City Art & Craft Show comes to the Charleston Civic Center Friday through Sunday. More than 160 artisans from seven states will sell traditional to contemporary items, including jewelry, pottery, photography, fine arts, and metal sculptures. Food vendors will offer treats for sale, and regional authors will sign books (including the Gazette's Rick Steelhammer at the West Virginia Book Co. booth on Saturday).A children's' coloring contest offers cash prizes. The first 250 attendees each day earn "Lions Buck" coupons good for discounts on their first purchase, and those who donate a nonperishable food product will receive a $1 coupon good at any vendor's booth.
Sponsored by the Kanawha City Lions Club, the event attracts thousands of visitors and benefits state and local charities, as well as providing more than $100,000 in eyeglasses for area residents.Hours are 4 to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
