CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Two Charleston men took about $30,000 worth of jewelry from homes burglarized in Kanawha and Lincoln counties this year, police said Friday.Charleston Police Department Sgt. Bobby Eggleton said the men are linked to the department's crackdown on area pawnshops that buy and sell stolen items.Cody Dylan Fuller, 26, was arrested Thursday night and charged with transferring and receiving stolen property. Detectives also issued a burglary warrant for Joshua Paul Caudill, 26, Eggleton said.Charleston detectives said the men frequently sold stolen items at area pawnshops, including a West Side store currently under investigation, Eggleton said.
It was announced in late October that detectives arrested the storeowner of Charleston Cash 4 Gold & Loan, 1305 Washington St. W., in connection to stolen items. Kyle R. Thompson, 27, was charged with 32 counts of failure to report stolen items.Eggleton said detectives are now focusing on individuals who allegedly brought stolen jewelry to that store.
Fuller was previously arrested last month after police said he sold stolen jewelry at the Charleston Cash 4 Gold on Summers Street. Fuller sold 17 pieces of jewelry valued at almost $2,000 at the store, according to a criminal complaint filed Nov. 7 in Kanawha County Magistrate Court. Earlier that morning, a burglary was reported at a home along Larchwood Road.Detective E. Tipton said he discovered 14 stolen pieces sold at the store with the victim's initials etched on them.Fuller is being held in South Central Regional Jail in lieu of a $10,000 cash-only bail.Eggleton said more charges against the men and others could be forthcoming.Anyone with information on Caudill's whereabouts is asked to call Charleston Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division at 304-348-6480.Reach Travis Crum at email@example.com or 304-348-5163.
