Huntington council's Christmas Eve meetings may end


HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Huntington's City Council had to meet on Christmas Eve because the city charter doesn't recognize the day as a legal holiday.Council members plan to amend the charter to prevent that from happening again.
The charter requires the council to meet the second and fourth Mondays of each month.A proposed ordinance drafted Monday would reschedule meetings falling on Christmas Eve meetings for another day that week, WSAZ-TV reported.
