CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Two Logan County brothers pleaded guilty Tuesday to federal charges linked to a cross-state prescription pill enterprise.Michael and Ronald Fortuna, both of Peach Creek, entered pleas to conspiracy to distribute oxycodone.In April 2011, federal agents issued a search warrant on a package that arrived at the Peach Creek post office. The package, addressed to Michael Fortuna, contained 1,789 30-milligram oxycodone tablets and bore a fictitious return address, prosecutors said. Authorities arrested Fortuna when he went to the post office to pick up the package.Months later, Ronald Fortuna was arrested at the West Palm Beach Airport as he and an accomplice were boarding a plane. The agents found 1,377 oxycodone tablets on the men, prosecutors said.
Each Fortuna brother faces up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine when U.S. District Judge Thomas E. Johnston sentences them May 2.
