FUTURE EVENTSWest Virginia State University VSU Extension Service and the West Virginia Alliance for Sustainable Families will sponsor an informational session on the Earned Income Tax Credit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in WVSU's Wilson Student Union, at 301 Washington Ave., Institute, as part of a national EITC Awareness Day. Those who earn less than $50,270 from wages, self-employment or farming may be eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and free help preparing their tax return. Detria Waller, extension agent with WVSU Extension Service, is hosting the event.WV K9 Search & Rescue Inc. will have a membership recruitment meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Dunbar Fire Department, 907 Dunbar Ave. Dunbar. WVK9SAR is an all-volunteer professional search and rescue team using canines and field team members to search for lost and missing persons. Admission is free. Putnam County Parks and Recreation Commission is hosting a photography class instructed by Laura Moul. Classes will be held in The Commons of Putnam County by the Wave Pool for three consecutive Tuesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Feb. 19, Feb. 26 and March 5. It is the largest radio museum in the eastern United States, with 10,000 square feet of display area. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays at 1640 Florence Ave., Huntington, with easy access from Interstate 64, Exit 6.
