Karaoke NightUnity of Kanawha Valley will be home to Karaoke Night at 7 p.m. Friday. The public is welcome to come and share talents at 804 Myrtle Road, corner of Bridge and Myrtle roads. There will be singing, dancing and food to share. Various coffees, teas, soft drinks and delicious homemade treats are available at a small donation cost. General admission is $2. Unity's Karaoke Night takes place on the third Friday of each month.Mental health conferenceDepression and Bipolar Support Alliance will present "Supporting the Mental Health Needs of Rural Communities" Conference Friday and Saturday at John XXIII Pastoral Center. Check-in begins at 5 p.m. Friday. The conference is for those with mood disorders and professionals. Keynote speaker at the Friday dinner will be given by Allen Doederlein, president of the DBSA national in Chicago. Pre-registration is required. The cost for both days including an overnight stay and meals is $125. Saturday only for people commuting is $65. CEU credits for RNs and social workers are available. The Magazine/Garrison Avenue Area Reunion Group will meet for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Shoney's, Kanawha Boulevard. Call David Radford or Norma Levy at 304-342-1095.Black history The Brothers of Xi Alpha and Theta Psi chapters of Omega Psi Phi will have a Black History Celebration at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Davis Fine Arts Building at West Virginia State University. The program will include Capital High School show choir; Horace Mann Middle School show choir; Partners of African-American Churches Communities Closing the Gap After School; and Poetry by Dr. Jenelle Nicole Robinson. An African-American Art Exhibit by Dr. R.
