Unity of Kanawha Valley will be home to Karaoke Night at 7 p.m. Friday. The public is welcome to come and share their talents at 804 Myrtle Road, corner of Bridge and Myrtle roads. There will be singing, dancing and food to share. Various coffees, teas, soft drinks and homemade treats are available for a small donation. Admission is $2. Unity's Karaoke Night takes place on the third Friday of each month.
The American Society On Aging, AAA, AARP and The American Occupational Therapy Association, will offer a CarFit program from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Holzer Clinic, 313 MacCorkle Ave., South Charleston. The program gives older adults the opportunity to check how their personal cars "fit" them. Trained professionals will lead older drivers through a 12-point checklist with their vehicle, recommend car adjustments and adaptations and offer community-specific resources and activities that could make their cars "fit" better or enhance their safety. An occupational therapist will be on hand to provide information on how to maintain and strengthen driving health. Greenbrier County Emergency Ambulance Service will present the award-winning "The Magic of Mike Snyder & Donna" show at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Greenbrier East High School in Fairlea. Doors open at 1:35 p.m. Tickets are $6 per person and are available by calling 304-645-2252 or at the door the day of the performance. The school is located at 1 Spartan Lane, just off U.S. 219, in Fairlea, near Lewisburg. The show will benefit The Greenbrier County Emergency Ambulance Service. Kiwanis Club of East Huntington will present the 54th Annual Pancake Festival from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at New Baptist Church, 610 28th St., Huntington. A donation of $5 in advance or $6 at the door is requested. Tickets available at: Chandler's Kitchens, Moore's Hardware, C&H Market, Muffler Brothers, Tic Toc Tire, Service Glass, Spurlock's Flowers and from any East Huntington Kiwanis Club member.
Al-Anon offers meetings for friends and family of alcoholics. Alateen meetings are for teens who are dealing with the alcoholism and/or drug addiction of a family member or friend. Al-Anon meetings will take place at 8 p.m. Tuesdays, St. John's Episcopal Church, 1105 Quarrier St.; noon Wednesdays at the Kanawha County Day Report Center, 900 Christopher St.; and 7 p.m. Thursdays, Edgewood area, St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 819 Somerset Drive. Alateen meets at 7 p.m. Thursdays in the Edgewood area at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 819 Somerset Drive; and at 7 p.m. Sundays, the Legacy Study Group meets at First Presbyterian Church, 508 Second Ave., South Charleston.
