Chi Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority will meet at 11:30 a.m. Saturday for a birthday brunch at the home of Patty Bruce. A gift exchange and revealing of secret sisters will be held. March service project will be school supplies for Bridgeview school.
Trail club hike
Kanawha Trail Club will offer a hike Sunday in Mill Creek. Meet at 1:30 p.m. to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. The hike is approximately 3 miles on an easy out and back, flat dirt road.
The Handlan Chapter of the Brooks Bird Club will learn about owls, including dissecting owl pellets, at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the South Charleston Library. Anyone interested in birds is welcome. The board meets at 6 p.m.
Preceptor Alpha chapter of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Kanawha Turnpike, Spring Hill. President Charlotte Bowling will conduct the business meeting. Program and hostess is Ann Henderson. Refreshments will follow the business meeting. Service is containers for Manna Meal, tabs for Ronald McDonald House, magazines for the veterans clinic and bought or homemade Comfort Blankets for Women's and Children's Hospital.
Craig Lefteroff, KCPL reference and electronics librarian, will present the workshop, "Pay Programs vs. Freeware," for adults and teens at noon Wednesday in the Technology Center at the Main Library, 123 Capitol St. Discover no-cost alternatives to programs like Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop. Registration is required. The program will also be offered at 6:30 p.m. March 26 at the St. Albans Branch Library and at 6 p.m. April 29 at the Riverside Public Library.
