More charges for suspect in multi-county crime spree
ST. ALBANS, W.Va. -- St. Albans police have filed more charges against a Hurricane man accused in a crime spree across several counties.Justin Lee Brafford, 31, was charged with grand larceny for allegedly stealing $1,300 cash from Lewie's video lottery parlor on U.S. 60 in St. Albans on March 15, according to Capt. James Agee of the St. Albans Police Department.Brafford is already in jail for an allegedly robbing three other gaming parlors in Kanawha and Putnam counties Sunday and Monday. He was arrested on Monday after he allegedly robbed Kelly's Café in Jefferson, one of three video lottery parlors Brafford allegedly hit overnight.
In that robbery, Brafford allegedly told the clerk he had a gun. He was later found in Nitro, where police allegedly found a large amount of money, a semiautomatic pistol and camoflage clothing.Brafford was also charged by Cabell County authorities with stealing $21,000 worth of band instruments from the Lincoln High School band in Shinnston in February, and a string of tool thefts in Cabell County last month.Brafford faces multiple charges of grand and petit larceny. He was in the South Central Regional Jail on Wednesday on three separate bonds filed in Kanawha and Cabell counties. Bail on all three cases totals $110,000.
