Northbound I-77 in southern W.Va. remains closed by slide
BLUEFIELD, W.Va. -- The northbound lanes of Interstate 77 near the West Virginia-Virginia border remain closed while work continues to clean up a rock slide.
The West Virginia Department of Transportation says snow and icy conditions hampered the cleanup on Sunday.
Crews have removed some of the debris from the slide and hauled it away. The department says they're still trying to knock down more loose rock.
The northbound lanes will remain closed today.
Traffic is being rerouted onto U.S. 460 in Princeton, where the highway reconnects with the interstate.
The slide occurred Wednesday afternoon. No injuries were reported.
