Trial continues for Putnam man accused of sexual abuse
WINFIELD, W.Va. -- The trial of a Hurricane man charged with first-degree sexual abuse continued Tuesday in front of Putnam Circuit Judge Phillip Stowers.
Roger G. Doneff II, 37, also faces charges of sexual abuse by a guardian, custodian or person in a position of trust and use of obscene material with the intent to seduce a minor.
The girl, now 12, testified Monday. She told police in 2011 that Doneff started abusing her when she was 6, court documents state.
Doneff's charges stem from a juvenile abuse and neglect case and were sent to a grand jury without a preliminary hearing, according to court documents.
He was indicted in November and posted $50,000 bail. He faces up to 25 years in prison.
